The Five Points neighborhood is a bustling part of East Nashville that’s home to excellent eateries, amazing independent shops, and other unique experiences year-round. Here are five things to do this spring right here in Five Points.
1. Shop
There are a plethora of locally owned stores and businesses in the Five Points neighborhood of Nashville, each with something special to offer. Support local record stores this spring for Record Store Day, which is April 12th this year (2025). Every genre is represented, and a ton of local stores are participating with big events and exclusive vinyl drops. Local East Nashville stores like The Groove, Grimey’s, and Vinyl Tap are all close to Five Points and are all Pledge Stores. For RSD neophytes, that means they promise to sell these rare, exclusive records to in-person customers and protect the prices for fairness. If you’re a record collector or music enthusiast, you won’t want to miss Record Store Day 2025 in the Five Points.
Another Five Points shopping staple is the Five Points Alley Shops, Center 615’s collection of local businesses, craftspeople, and creators. Buy some books to read in the fresh air at Defunct Books or stock up on spring cleaning products and bulk refills on things like soaps and cleaners at The Good Fill. Nashville’s Five Points Shops are home to so many places to find unique gifts, too. Riveter is the place for hand-crafted jewelry and unique fragrances. This one-of-a-kind shop is sure to please anyone looking for eclectic and meticulously crafted jewelry. There’s no shortage of other shops to frequent in the Five Points, and part of the fun is finding them on your own. You never know what you’ll find when walking around this gem of Nashville.

2. Visit East Nashville’s Parks
East Nashville has some excellent parks to visit and take in the scenery as spring brings captivating blooms. Shelby Park is a huge park close to the Five Points, with over 300 acres of green space and fresh air. Located along the Cumberland River, Shelby Park has tons of walkable and accessible paths for hiking, biking, and nature-watching. But Shelby Park also has multiple fields for sports, a fenced off-leash dog park, and two golf courses! The Shelby Park Community Center has indoor courts for basketball and hosts tons of local community events, most of which are free for residents. If you’re looking for something a bit smaller, East Park is a great place to take the family for a trip to the playground or some baseball. East Recreation Center also hosts indoor and outdoor sports, classes, and events all year. Soak up nature this spring at one of the Five Points and East Nashville’s many parks; you won’t be disappointed.
3. Attend Spring Events
Every season has its events, and springtime in the Five Points has a lot to offer. The East Nashville Beer Fest has been happening every spring for over a decade, bringing local breweries together for a festival of live music, live wrestling, and a safe brew hop that’s sure to impress. Whether you’re a craft beer expert or totally new to everything Music City is doing with beer, you won’t want to miss the East Nashville Beer Fest on April 12, 2025. In the mood for some exercise for a good cause? The St. Jude Rock ‘n’ Roll Running Series in Nashville happens this April 26 and 27, and it features a number of courses, from a full marathon to a mile run. This event benefits St. Jude, includes the best of Nashville’s music, and is a laid-back charity event that encourages runners of all speeds and abilities. This race is fully accessible for folks with disabilities, too, so anyone can participate to support this great cause.
4. Try Seasonal Eats
Getting out of the house after being cooped up all winter can really work up your appetite. In Five Points, there’s an abundance of places to get your nosh on at all times of the day. Brunch and breakfast get done right in Nashville, and the restaurants of Five Points are all on-point with their biscuits. Stop by The Treehouse to experience their Brunch Board, a charcuterie board with some serious heft to it. This bar and restaurant has been a staple of East Nashville for years, and their food and drink selection is always changing and growing. Looking to tackle your hunger around lunchtime in Five Points? You can’t go wrong at Bill’s Sandwich Palace. This shop offers subs and sandwiches with fresh ingredients at a great price. Our recommendation? Take a risk and order the mystery sandwich—a sandwich that changes weekly. You never know what you’ll get, but you can bet it’ll be good. Dinner and drinks in East Nashville are not hard to find, but you might be hard-pressed to choose from all the great options. Lockeland Table is an excellent pick for dinner and drinks, with a menu that’s focused on sustainability and local meat and produce. It’s hard to pick just one thing, so take a peek at the menu, make your reservation, and enjoy the experience in this classy establishment.
