Photo studio in Center 615.

Senior pictures are an important part of any teenager’s life, and they’re also a huge part of many photographers’ business every year. If you’re looking for a last-minute photo studio in Nashville for senior photos, you’re in luck.

How to Take the Best Senior Pictures

Finding the Right Natural Light

Natural light photography is the best way to achieve beautiful results for senior portraits. Natural light photos are full of character and give your subject a natural and intimate setting to capture their best side. Natural light also makes your job easier since you don’t need to lug around hundreds of pounds of lighting equipment, saving you time and effort. Senior photos aren’t just for high schoolers these days; college graduates are also embracing this nostalgic tradition as a way of capturing a moment in their lives. The business of photography has never been better, but it can be hard to find where to go to get the best pictures.

You likely already know that natural light makes for the best portrait photos, but sometimes there are certain elements you can’t control. Heading out to a public park or other space around Nashville can be the best way to take natural light photos for free, but there are tons of challenges around doing that. In the summer and fall, the weather doesn’t always permit outdoor shooting. Busy parks can be too hectic to get reliable shots since you want to keep the focus on your subject. The most popular time for senior photos is the summer and fall, making right now the perfect time to get out and offer your photography services. However, it can be difficult to find good places that aren’t constantly in use for summer and fall events around Nashville.

Since people are turning to you for their senior photo shoot from start to finish, you must be prepared to cater to their needs. This type of control is hard to exert in a public space, so many turn to private studio space. Renting a private photography space with natural light is your best bet, but where can you find a natural light studio near you

Natural Light Opportunities at Studio 615

Studio 615 is located just outside of Nashville and has three rental spaces that suit any photographer’s needs. We pride ourselves on providing studio space that gives you the freedom to create on any budget. Let’s explore our two studio spaces with natural light so you can decide which is right for your senior photo shoot.

Natural Light Studio

The smaller of our two studios with ample natural light, this aptly named studio has 500 square feet of indoor photography space with tons of natural light. This light is provided by a massive 11-foot glass garage door. It faces the northwest, so it’s perfect for golden hour shoots, giving your subjects a natural glow that is sure to impress. The studio has white concrete walls and plenty of room for necessary props or tech, and the garage door makes loading equipment a breeze. The Natural Light Studio is also incredibly budget-friendly, costing only $150 per hour on weekdays with a two-hour minimum. Plan out several shoots in the same day or spend a few hours getting tons of shots for one client—the choice is yours. On the weekends, the rate is $225 per hour with a four-hour minimum. Members at Center 615 enjoy 15% off the rates at Studio 615, so if you already rent office space or cowork with us, you’re able to save on renting any of our spaces for events or photography. We have staff on-site at all times to ensure you’re taken care of. We strive to be more than just a photo studio in Nashville; we’re a place to get things done and take care of your clients.

Photographer’s Playground

The Photographer’s Playground is also full of natural light, but it comes with a few more bells and whistles for larger productions or longer stays. Also known as Studio 2, this space is over three times larger than the Natural Light Studio at 1,900 square feet. With this extra space comes more perks, too. Much like the Natural Light Studio, this space also has a large glass garage door, which provides tons of natural light. In addition to natural light, the space also includes a seamless wall, giving you a unique and massive backdrop for senior photos. Rain or shine, this space can work for your photography, with tons of accommodations for lighting available. Grip equipment is available on-site for your specific needs in case natural light doesn’t cut it. Rather than canceling the shoot, you can pivot and still get excellent, well-lit shots in the Photographer’s Playground.

The last unique perk to this space is a green room. This green room is the perfect place to work on makeup, rest between shots, change outfits, and accommodate your client’s needs. If you’re looking to impress and create a comfortable photo shoot for your senior picture clients, you cannot go wrong with a green room. Sunday through Thursday, expect to pay $850 for a five-hour session and $1,100 for a ten-hour day of shooting in the Photographer’s Playground. On Friday and Saturday, the rate goes a bit higher to $1,000 for five hours and $1,250 for ten hours. Having so much time in a space gives you the opportunity to service multiple clients in the same day without the need to travel or vie for space in crowded public areas. How convenient is that?

Don’t Miss Out on Senior Pictures

Studio 615 is the perfect place to get natural light with the benefit of private space and a contingency plan for wind and rain. If you’re looking to shoot impressive and unique senior photos at Studio 615, schedule a tour and see what it’s like in person before spending a dime!
